Shrimp Guvec with Tomatoes and Peppers
Shrimp bake in individual clay dishes with tomatoes, green and red peppers, garlic and a touch of chili until the sauce bubbles at the edges. Thin lemon slices roast on top, perfuming the dish, and crusty bread is essential on the side.
Test kitchen note: Heat the clay dishes slowly in the oven as it warms up. Putting cold clay into a hot oven can crack it.
Method 5 steps
-
Place two small clay baking dishes in a cold oven and set it to 400F.
-
Cook the onion and peppers in the oil for 5 minutes, add the garlic, pepper paste and chili flakes, then stir in the grated tomatoes and simmer for 5 minutes.
-
Stir the shrimp into the sauce, season with salt and divide between the warm clay dishes.
-
Lay the lemon slices on top and bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the shrimp are pink and the sauce is bubbling.
-
Scatter with parsley and serve at once with bread.
That is the whole pie. Enjoy every slice.
