Recipes
How do you test your recipes before publishing them?
Every recipe is cooked at least three times before it goes live. A developer writes and refines the first version, then two different cooks make it from the written instructions alone, using ordinary home equipment. We adjust timing, quantities, and wording after each round until the results are consistent. If a dish only works in a professional kitchen, it does not make the cut.
Which recipes are free and which are for members?
Roughly half of our library is open to everyone, with no sign-up needed. The rest carry a members badge on the recipe card. You can still read the introduction, see the photos, and skim the ingredient overview of a members recipe, but the full method, cook's notes, and printable version unlock once you join Silkpie Recipe as a member.
Can I scale a recipe up or down?
Yes. Most recipes include a servings control that adjusts ingredient amounts automatically. Baking recipes list both weights and cup measurements, and we recommend weighing for the most reliable results. Keep in mind that cooking times and pan sizes do not always scale in a straight line, so check the recipe notes before you double or halve a batch.
Do you include allergen and dietary information?
Recipes are tagged as vegetarian, dairy-free, gluten-free, and so on where those labels apply, and the notes often suggest substitutions. Our test kitchen is not certified allergen-free, and packaged ingredients vary between manufacturers, so always read product labels carefully. If you are managing a serious allergy or a medical diet, please check with your doctor or dietitian.
A recipe did not turn out the way I expected. Can you help?
We would love to troubleshoot with you. Send a note to info@silkpierecipe.com with the recipe name, any changes you made, the type of oven or stove you used, and a photo if you have one. Our test kitchen team reads every message and can often spot the culprit quickly. If the written steps were unclear, we update the recipe for everyone.
Can I share or republish your recipes?
Sharing a link to any recipe page with friends and family is always welcome. Please do not copy the full method, photos, or headnotes onto another website, newsletter, or printed material without written permission. If you have adapted one of our dishes for your own blog, rewrite the steps in your own words and credit Silkpie Recipe with a link back to the original.
Membership
What does a membership include?
Members unlock the complete recipe library, including every members-only dish with its detailed technique notes and print-friendly layout. You also get early access to new seasonal collections and member features in the journal. Any signed-in user can save recipes to a recipe box, and members can save as many as they like, so the whole catalog is yours to cook through.
How much does membership cost?
There are two plans. The monthly plan is $9.99 per month and renews automatically each month. The annual plan is $99.99 per year, billed once up front, which costs less than paying monthly for twelve months. Both plans include exactly the same recipes and features, so pick whichever billing rhythm suits your budget best.
How do I cancel my membership?
Sign in, open your account page, and choose the option to cancel your membership. There are no phone calls or retention forms involved, and you can do it any time. Cancelling stops future renewals, and you keep full member access until the end of the period you have already paid for. After that, your account simply returns to a free account.
Is there a money-back guarantee?
Yes. If membership is not a good fit, contact us within 30 days of your first membership payment and we will refund that payment in full, no questions asked. The guarantee covers the initial charge on either plan but not later renewals. Refunds go back to your original payment method and usually appear within 5 to 10 business days.
Can I switch between the monthly and annual plans?
You can. Choose a different plan from your account page and the change takes effect when your current billing period ends, so you never lose days you have already paid for. Plenty of members start monthly to get a feel for the library, then move to annual once they know they will be cooking with us all year.
What happens to my saved recipes if my membership ends?
Your recipe box belongs to your account, not your plan, so nothing is deleted. Free recipes you saved remain fully viewable. Members-only recipes stay listed in your box, showing their preview until you rejoin, at which point full access returns instantly. You will not have to hunt down or re-save a single dish.
Why do I see a renewal charge on my statement?
Both plans renew automatically so your access is never interrupted. Monthly members are billed on the same date each month, and annual members once a year on the anniversary of joining. Your next renewal date is always shown on your account page. If a charge looks unfamiliar, email info@silkpierecipe.com and we will look into it right away.
Orders & Shipping
How much does shipping cost?
Store orders ship for a flat rate of $6.50, no matter how many items are in your cart. Once your merchandise subtotal reaches $75.00, shipping is on us. The shipping amount appears in your cart before you check out, so there are no surprises on the final payment step.
How quickly will my order ship?
We pack and ship orders within 2 business days of purchase. Orders placed on a weekend or public holiday begin processing on the next business day. As soon as your parcel leaves our warehouse, we email a shipping confirmation with tracking details. Transit time after that depends on your location and the carrier handling the delivery.
Which countries do you ship to?
We currently ship to addresses in the United States and Canada. We hope to reach more countries in the future and will announce new destinations in the journal when they open up. Canadian customers should note that the carrier may collect import duties or taxes on delivery, which are separate from the shipping charge shown at checkout.
What is your return policy?
Store items can be returned within 30 days of delivery as long as they are unused and in their original packaging. To start a return, email info@silkpierecipe.com with your order number and we will reply with instructions. After the item arrives back and passes inspection, we refund your original payment method, which typically takes 5 to 10 business days to show up.
My item arrived damaged. What should I do?
We are sorry that happened. Please report the damage within 7 days of delivery by emailing info@silkpierecipe.com with your order number and photos of both the item and the shipping box. We will arrange a replacement or a full refund, whichever you prefer, and you will not pay anything to send the damaged piece back.
Can I change or cancel an order after placing it?
Reach out as soon as possible at info@silkpierecipe.com or +1 (917) 624-0746, since orders move to packing quickly. If your parcel has not been packed yet, we can usually correct the address, swap an item, or cancel the order entirely. Once it has shipped, changes are no longer possible, but unused items can still be returned within 30 days.
Can pantry goods be returned?
For food safety reasons, opened pantry goods such as spices, oils, and flours cannot be returned. Unopened pantry items in their original sealed packaging follow the standard 30-day return window. If a pantry product arrives damaged, leaking, or past its best-by date, let us know within 7 days of delivery and we will make it right.
Account & Privacy
Do I need an account to use the site?
No account is needed to browse the store, read the journal, or cook from any of our free recipes. Creating a free account lets you save dishes to your recipe box and keep your order history in one place. A paid membership is only required to open the members-only half of the recipe library.
How does the recipe box work?
While signed in, press the save button on any recipe to add it to your recipe box. Your box lives on your account page, where you can open saved recipes or remove ones you no longer need. Every signed-in user can save recipes, and members can store an unlimited number, so there is room for everything you want to cook next.
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
Select the forgot password link on the sign-in page and enter the email address tied to your account. We will send a reset link that stays valid for one hour. If it expires before you use it, just request a fresh one. Not seeing the message? Check your spam or promotions folder, then contact info@silkpierecipe.com if it still has not arrived.
How do you protect my password and payment details?
Your password is never stored in readable form. We keep only a secure hash of it, which means nobody on our team can view or recover the original. Card payments are handled by our payment processor over encrypted connections, and full card numbers are never saved on our servers. We will never ask for your password by email or phone.
What personal information do you collect?
We collect only what we need to run your account and fulfill orders: your name, email address, shipping address, order history, membership status, and the recipes you save. This information is used to provide the service and to send account or order messages. SILKPIT INC does not sell your personal information, and the privacy policy explains every detail.
How do I update my details or delete my account?
You can change your name, email address, and password from your account page at any time. To close your account permanently, email info@silkpierecipe.com from the address on file, and cancel any active membership first. We will confirm the request and erase your personal data, keeping only the order records we are legally required to retain.
